In New York, the Taganka Theater will show the performance “Spine Flute”
The Taganka Theater on July 23 in New York will show the season premiere - the spine flute musical and poetic performance.
From the stage there will be poems and letters from Vladimir Mayakovsky. The set includes several texts of other classics of Russian poetry.
The performance echoes the legendary staging of the Theater on Taganka, 1967, “Listen” by Yuri Lyubimov. His co-author was then Benjamin Laughter. This time he is again the author of the composition and one of the performers.
“There is an echo here. From what the viewer hears or hears, perhaps most of that performance, but with Mayakovsky’s lyrics and poems. And there is something that has never been there, of course. But all the same, the building material is the same, ”shared the People’s Artist of Russia Veniamin Smekhov.
