Shooting in a hospital in Chicago: four dead, including an arrow

An armed man opened fire in a hospital in Chicago. According to the latest data, as a result, four people were killed: two employees of the hospital, a policeman and the shooter himself.

According to a local police spokesman, the assailant died during a shootout. It is unclear whether he committed suicide or was shot.

The incident occurred on Monday around 15: 00 local time. Police say the shooting began with an argument in a parking lot where a woman was killed. Then a man entered the hospital building and opened indiscriminate shooting.

The woman killed in the parking lot was supposedly his lover.

The police quickly arrived at the building, patients and staff were evacuated.

Одному из полицейских чудом удалось избежать ранения — пуля попала в его пистолет и не задела его самого, сообщают местные СМИ.

This is the third case of shooting in the USA in one day. Earlier on Monday, the bodies of four people with gunshot wounds were found in Philadelphia, and in Denver an unknown person killed one person and injured three more.

Against this background, heated debates between doctors, who advocate a ban on the free sale of weapons in the United States, and the National Firearms Association (NRA) have flared up in social networks.

This year alone, almost 13 thousands of people died in the United States as a result of the shooting. Another 25 thousand people were shot and wounded. 250 police officers were killed in the line of duty.
