An employee of the branch of the Russian Sberbank in Rostov-on-Don replaced 4 million rubles with “jokes of the bank”. The substitution took place within two years. According to investigators, the employee had access to the money of the bank and the key to the safe.

“Allegedly, his girlfriend had financial difficulties, in connection with which he had to arrange for himself and fulfill a number of credit obligations. In addition, he regularly played on the stock exchange, and in 2014, as a result of unsuccessfully completed transactions, he lost a large amount of money, ”the prosecutor's office said.

In Russia, inattentive or elderly people are often deceived with “joke bank tickets.”

Yesterday, for example, in Moscow, a swindler deceived 83 women. She introduced herself as a representative of the bank and announced the mandatory exchange of existing banknotes for banknotes of a new type. Then they turned out to be “joke bank notes.”
