Dog surfers competition held in California

Four-legged pets and their owners took part in the seventh annual surfer competition "Surf City Surf Dog" on a California beach for Huntington Beach dogs near Los Angeles.

Shasta - a cross between husky and sharpei - has been competing for the third year in a row.

“I just see how much she loves any physical activity, including surfing,” said Kathy Lawrence, Mistress of Shasta. - Sometimes it is noticeable that some dogs are clamped and can not wait, but when they can jump off the board, they don’t want to go back to the water. Ours are one of those who once again jumps on the board and returns to the waves with pleasure. ”

The owner of the American pit bull named Faith, James Wall, spoke about the requirements for surfer dogs: “First, your dog must love water, this is one of the most important conditions. Secondly - to be able to maintain balance. A dog can be trained in different ways. We started from a calm bay where there were no waves. Newbie surfer Kopper received a special medal for his participation.
