Sobchak revealed details of her presidential campaign
TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak 24 October held the first press conference as a potential presidential candidate in the elections of the year 2018.
During the meeting, she announced the composition of her election headquarters, and also answered questions about political prisoners and her attitude to the status of Crimea, reports RFI.
The head of the election headquarters Sobchak became a political scientist and media manager Igor Malashenko. He is one of the creators of the NTV television company, and also held senior positions on other Russian television channels. In 1996, Malashenko was one of the leaders of the election campaign of Boris Yeltsin.
Ksenia Sobchak explained her position on Crimea, stating that from the point of view of international law, the peninsula is under the jurisdiction of Ukraine, and called for a dialogue between the two countries.
“From the point of view of international law, the Crimea is Ukrainian. Point. Let's talk further, ”said Sobchak.
The TV presenter also demanded the release of political prisoners in Russia. In particular, she mentioned the brother of opposition politician Alexei Navalny Oleg, director Kirill Serebrennikov, Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, and RBC journalist Alexander Sokolov. Sobchak also asked Ukrainian journalists to give her their list of political prisoners.
Recall Ksenia Sobchak announced plans to participate in the presidential election October 18, calling himself a candidate "against all."
