In a situation where almost all the votes are counted, Clinton is ahead of Sanders by less than half a percent.

Republican construction magnate Donald Trump won in Oregon, where, in fact, he was the only candidate.

Sanders also announced victory in this relatively liberal state shortly after the polling stations closed.

“Before we have the opportunity to defeat Donald Trump, we need to defeat Secretary Clinton,” said Sanders to the cheers of those gathered in Carson, California.

Clinton has a significant advantage over Sanders in the 300 delegates obtained during the primaries. It is also supported by the overwhelming majority of party officials and elected party leaders, the so-called “superdelegates.”

Nobody expected that voting in Kentucky and Oregon would change the situation, and the ex-Secretary of State continues to move towards securing his nomination in early June.

The primaries in these two states took place against the backdrop of new questions about the unity of the Democratic Party, which arose after a scandal at a party conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Sanders supporters threw chairs and threatened to kill the woman chairman, favor Clinton.

Evidence of tension between the parties was a statement by Sanders, issued on Tuesday, in which he called complaints from the Democrats of Nevada "nonsense" and said that his supporters were not treated with due "justice and respect."

In California, Sanders called on the party to accept voters who are “willing to fight for real economic and social change.”
