The attack on the hotel in Mali killed six Russians

As a result of militant attacks on the Radisson Blu Hotel in Mali, six Russians were killed. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

All of them were employees of the airline "Volga-Dnepr".

According to Zakharova, they were shot along with 13 by other foreigners in the restaurant during the first minutes of the attack on the hotel. Another six Russians were released along with more than a hundred other hostages during the storming of the hotel by Malian special forces.

It is also reported that the five victims of the attack are residents of the Ulyanovsk region. November 23 will be announced in the region as a day of mourning.

On Friday, armed men attacked a hotel in the capital of Mali Bamako, taking 170 people hostage - 140 guests and 30 hotel workers. Some of them were released by militants after they were able to read the Koran at their request. A few hostages managed to escape.

Later, the special forces of Mali, together with the security forces of other countries, took the hotel by storm, freeing the hostages. Initially, 27 bodies were reported dead, but this figure is changing - according to recent reports, 19 dead. The authorities in Mali reported that two attackers were killed during the assault.
