Former head of Hewlett-Packard running for president of the United States
Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina announced that she is running for president. She becomes the first female candidate for the Republican Party.
Speaking at Good Morning America, Carly Florina said: “I think I’m the best person for this job, because I understand how the economy really works. I understand the world and all who are in it. ”
The former representative of the Silicon Valley elite and the claimant to the White House owner never held a government position. In 2010, she unsuccessfully ran for the Senate, losing to Democratic Party senator Barbara Boxer. She is one of the few women who ever entered the presidential race from the Republican Party. Among them are Michele Bachmann, who was a candidate in 2012, and Elizabeth Dole, who participated in the presidential campaign in 2000.
