Teen miraculously survived after 12 hours in wastewater in Los Angeles

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garketti was among the many who closely followed the rescue of Jesse. In the series tweets Garchetti praised the rescuers and thanked the teenager's family for their "patience and optimism during this painful experience."

Also on Sunday, an 11-year-old boy fell into a canal in Meadow Vista, about 64 km northwest of Sacramento. A couple of hours later he was found dead.

It is known that in October 1987, rescuers took out an 18-month-old girl who was in a narrow abandoned well in Midland, Texas, for more than 58 hours.
