An unusually late summer tornado swept through Tulsa, Oklahoma, on August 6, wounding dozens of people and destroying part of the downtown shopping district.
According to the National Weather Service estimates, the wind speed in the air funnel reached 217 km per hour, reports Huffington Post.
About 30 people went to a local hospital with injuries resulting from tornadoes, two of them were seriously injured, threatening their lives.

The tornado also caused damage to buildings, pollution of roads with debris and a cliff of power lines, about 17 thousands of Talsi residents were left without electricity.

According to meteorologists, tornadoes are primarily a spring weather phenomenon and their occurrence in August is atypical.
