In Kazakhstan, at the art exhibition “Astana Art Fest”, globes with maps of different countries of the world were presented. Among them were Ukraine and Russia. Kazakh artists first placed the annexed Crimea on the map of Ukraine, then sketched it and moved it to the map of the Russian Federation.

According to Ukrinform, the exhibition was prepared specifically for the arrival of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.

“I will, of course, pass information about this to Kyiv. The capital will decide what and how to proceed with this. But so far we have no official apology from the Kazakh side,” said Ukrainian diplomat Vladimir Dzhidzhora.

It is reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent an official note of protest to Kazakh colleagues.

Later, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Embassy in Kazakhstan, Irina Blashchuk, reported that the map of Ukraine without the Crimea and the map of Russia with the peninsula overnight were completely painted over.
