The case of the rehabilitation of Nazism was brought to a teenager in Russia

In the Astrakhan region, a criminal case has been opened against a minor teenager for the rehabilitation of Nazism. This is the third case of criminal prosecution under this article. And the first is when a case is opened based on a message on social networks.

According to investigators, the suspect posted a photo of German soldiers from World War II on his social network page. “Under it, the young man left his comments giving a positive assessment of the events that occurred on September 1, 1939, namely the invasion of German troops into the territory of Poland, recognized as a crime by the International Military Tribunal,” the regional investigative committee said in a statement.

Under part 1, Article 354 of the Criminal Code (approval of crimes established by the sentence of the International Military Tribunal for the trial and punishment of the main war criminals of European axis countries), the young man faces 300 thousands of fines, forced labor or imprisonment for up to three years old.

According to the Komsomolskaya Pravda publication, the young man graduated from school in a small regional center a year and a half ago, after which he entered the academy, after graduating from which he was supposed to become a sailor. The newspaper claims that while still in high school, the teenager began visiting neo-Nazi sites.
The publication leads the message of a young man in one of the social networks, where he openly calls himself a Nazi.

Currently, according to media reports, the young man is under a written undertaking not to leave.

Not for the first time

“Rehabilitation of Nazism” became a crime in May 2014. The bill, one of the authors of which was United Russia deputy Irina Yarovaya, was adopted by the State Duma unanimously.

The first criminal case under this article was instituted at the beginning of the year after Nazi symbols and inscriptions of extremist content were inscribed on monuments in the Guards park on the Walk of Fame in Krasnoyarsk. Upon the incident, the investigators questioned the suspects, however, who they are and how many people were not disclosed in the interests of the investigation.

The suspects were left free at the time of the investigation.

Another criminal case was opened on the fact of the abuse of the graves of victims and the desecration of symbols of military glory in Ukraine. We are talking about several cases of demolition of monuments and desecration of memorials.

The Investigative Committee emphasized that “the monuments are symbols of the military glory of Soviet soldiers in the fight against fascism, and since the Russian Federation is the legal successor of the USSR, these illegal actions are directed against the interests of Russia.”

The story of toy soldiers in Nazi uniforms, which were sold in the “Central Children's Store” on Lubyanka, also resonated in Russia. Investigators searched the mall, and the soldiers were withdrawn from sale. A few days later, a criminal case was opened under the “extremist” Article 281 of the Criminal Code “inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity.”
