A case was opened against Akhmetov for financing terrorism - people's deputy
Criminal proceedings on the financing of terrorism and separatism have been opened against the Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov.
People's Deputy, member of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction Yegor Firsov stated this on the air of the Shuster LIVE talk show.
“Few people know, but a case has been opened against Rinat Akhmetov for financing terrorism and separatism,” the deputy said.
Akhmetov denied this information. A statement from the businessman’s press service says that Yegor Firsov, “taking advantage of his status as a government representative, misled television viewers.”
It also notes there that Akhmetov was questioned by the General Prosecutor's Office on 22 on January 2015, and was personally told to the media.
15 April, the head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaichenko said that the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine have no serious complaints against Akhmetov.
