Lithuania calls for help Ukraine with weapons

Lithuania calls on other states to help arm the Ukrainian army, which in the east of the country is at war with Russian-backed separatists, Foreign Minister Linas Linkiavicius said on Wednesday.
The minister also said that Lithuania, if possible, supports the Ukrainian army, but he did not specifically specify this assistance.
“We do not specify what kind of weapon it is (...), but it is support for the army within the framework of the capabilities that we have. We do this and encourage others to do this,” Linkevičius told government reporters.
He stressed that Russia constantly supplies weapons to the separatists in the east of Ukraine and denies it publicly.
Commenting on the situation in eastern Ukraine, Linkevicius said that the terms of the truce had been violated, so “there must be consequences,” but he did not name specific new sanctions against Russia.
On Tuesday, Russian diplomats criticized Lithuania for military assistance to Ukraine.
