Former Secretary of State Schulz also raised not only a number of international issues and problems, but also some of the problems that exist in North America, “in our area,” as he said. In particular, Schulz noted that the causes of the problems of the US immigration system should not always be sought on the US borders:

At some point the hearing was interrupted by a man who started shouting words about Kissinger in connection with his role in the war in Vietnam and in the conflicts in South America. Schultz rose to the defense of Kissinger, and to the applause of those present, the troublemaker was taken out of the hall.
