American producers recall 206 million eggs due to salmonella

The outbreak of salmonellosis, which the doctors associated with eggs, caused one of the largest reviews of eggs in recent years in the United States.

Under the review, more than 206 millions of eggs of nine different brands in nine states fell, writes Miami Herald.

Reviewed by the company Rose acre farms and is the largest in the United States since 2010, when a massive egg recall was held, also caused by Salmonella.

The company said that they received information about 22 cases of human diseases that may have been caused by the use of eggs, but the recall of such a large lot in Rose acre farms called the “precautionary measure”.

Salmonellosis is one of the most common foodborne bacterial diseases. Its symptoms can vary: some people tolerate the disease relatively easily when faced with diarrhea, vomiting and fever, in some cases this disease can lead to death. Especially hard to suffer this disease preschoolers, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and chronic health problems.

The review was the result of an extensive FDA (Food and Drug Administration) scrutiny, which was conducted after several people on the east coast of the United States were hospitalized with salmonellosis.

It concerns eggs produced on Hyde County farmincluded in Rose acre farms and located in North Carolina. This enterprise produces 2,3 million eggs per day.

Eggs from the farm were sent to shops and restaurants in Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, Colorado and West Virginia. In grocery stores, they were sold under brands. Country Daybreak, Crystal Farms, Coburn Farms, Sunshine Farms, Glenview, Great Value (trademark network Walmart) and Food Lion's.

Under the review came packaging eggs labeled No. P-1065 and codes (Lot codes) 011 - 102. These data can be found on the top or side of the package.

Consumers who have purchased these eggs are advised to throw them away or return them to the store where they will be reimbursed the cost of the products.
