Dow Jones Index for the first time in history exceeded 23 000 points

Stock index Dow Jones October 17 for the first time in history exceeded the level in 23000 points, сообщает Rtvi.

The previous record in the 22000 points index reached at the 2 auction in August. Since the beginning of the year, the index has grown by 16%, and its growth since the election of the President of the United States amounted to 26%.

Growth Dow Jones October 17 provided shares of two companies: health care provider United health (the company's shares rose 5,3% due to a good quarterly report) and Johnson & Johnson (growth of shares for amounted to 2,4%).

Contributions to the growth of the index from August 2 made shares Boeing (+ 142 item) and Caterpillar (+ 121 item). Shares of these companies brought the greatest profit to their owners, they have grown by the beginning of the year by 65,9% and 41,2%, respectively.

Analysts believe that a certain contribution to the growth of stock indices made plans for Donald Trump to reduce the tax on corporate profits.

Industrial Index Dow Jones - the oldest among the existing US market indices. It was first published in the 1896 year. This index was created to track the development of the industrial component of the US stock markets (at the moment, not all companies included in the index can be described as industrial). The index covers 30 of the largest US corporations.
