Jerusalem transgender will receive an apology from the police and 264 dollar compensation

A well-known transgender and activist in the fight for the rights of sexual minorities in Jerusalem, identifying himself as a woman named Jermain, won a symbolic trial a few days ago against the local police in the city’s justice court.

For the humiliation of Jermain, the guards will have to apologize in writing and pay compensation in shekels 1000 (264 dollars).

A few weeks ago, Jermaine got into an ordinary car accident and arrived at the police station to get information about the culprit driver. According to the statement of claim, she had to face a mocking and scornful attitude in the police.

“The policeman told me to go to one of the employees who was supposed to help me. Instead, she began to mock me, and that was the end of her help. I was discriminated against because of my non-traditional gender identity,” Jermaine wrote.
