More than 90 Jews teamed up at an event in New Jersey: 'We are strong and cannot be stopped'
One of the main goals of this large-scale gathering is to demonstrate strength and unity against the backdrop of a growing wave of anti-Semitism in New York. This publication writes CBS News.
More than 90 thousand Jews gathered together in the New Year to celebrate Siyum HaShas. This event marks the completion of a study of a 2700-page ancient Jewish text called the Talmud, which involves reading a page a day for seven years. “This is an explanation of the Jewish laws that come from the Bible, and how we get to the place where we practice them today,” said Aaron Stein, who attended the event.
The Jews also demonstrated their unity after this series of brutal anti-Semitic attacks in New York.
As previously reported, on December 10, two shooters attacked the kosher market in Jersey City, killing three people. During the Hanukkah festival last week, a man with a knife attacked five people at a rabbi’s house in Moncy, New York.
