Bill Clinton and Barack Obama joke on Twitter
Former US President Bill Clinton asked the current head of the White House, Barack Obama, what would happen to his newly created @POTUS Twitter profile after he left office.
“Welcome to Twitter, @POTUS! One question: will this nickname remain under the administration of [the president]? ”He wrote, using his account in the microblogging service. At the same time in the message he added the hashtag #askingforafriend (“asking for a friend”) with a hint that this account may be needed by his wife Hillary Clinton if she wins the presidential election 2016 of the year.
In response, Obama also laughed off: “Good question, @billclinton. Nick is attached to the White House. Do you know someone who is interested in an @FLOTUS account? ”
@FLOTUS is an account owned by the First Lady of the United States. At the moment, the profile is maintained by Obama's wife Michel.
18 May Barack Obama started personal Twitter account under the pseudonym POTUS, which is the full name of the position of the American leader and stands for President of the United States (US President). At the time of this writing, more than 1,6 million people have subscribed to the page.
