The White House announces the flow of weapons from Russia for militants in Ukraine
The US authorities are still concerned about the constant supply of weapons from Russia to Ukraine, White House spokesman Josh Ernest said on Monday.
He said a “steady flow” of military equipment and manpower continues to flow into eastern Ukraine, and Russian forces continue to support separatists in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
According to Ernest, this causes concern to the United States and its allies in Eastern Europe, who consider Russia's actions a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, for its part, said that the United States is using the “myth” of the “Russian threat” to expand its military presence and influence in Europe.
Responding to announcements of plans to place in Eastern Europe american heavy weapons, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned: “We still hope that reason will prevail and that the situation in Europe can be kept from sliding into a new military confrontation, which could have dangerous consequences.”
