American military equipment arrived in Lithuania
“A company-sized unit will be deployed in Lithuania, formed from one tank platoon and two platoons of Stryker armored personnel carriers with support units - a total of about 20 vehicles, including five Abrams tanks,” the Ministry of Defense told BNS.
According to the ministry, this equipment will be located in Rukla, as until now - at the location of the Mechanized Infantry Battalion of Grand Duke Vaidotas.
“By sending heavy weapons to Lithuania for exercises, the United States is demonstrating a strong commitment to helping ensure the security of Lithuania and the Baltic countries. This equipment will allow the Lithuanian military to study, train and be ready to act together with allied units of various types: from infantry to tanks,” said the Department of Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense.
The ministry published this information after a consignment of military equipment from the United States, intended for the Baltic countries as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, was delivered to the port of Riga.
