To which only lovers will not go for the sake of meeting with the girl of their dreams! Employees of the Ukrainian Border Service detained a US citizen who tried to illegally cross the border between Ukraine and Russia. According to the offender, he intended to do this for romantic reasons.

Border guards of the Kharkov frontier detachment detained an American while trying to cross the border outside the checkpoint. This is stated in the message of the press service of the Eastern Regional Department of the State Border Service, transmit Ukrainian News.
“Having received operational information from the local inspector, the border patrol moved to the place of the probable violation and detained the illegal traveler 10 meters from the state border line,” the report says.
During the interview, the offender explained that he was trying to enter Russian territory “to see his beloved.”
Not being able to get a Russian visa, he drove into Ukraine legally, bought a bicycle and went on it to Russia.
The further fate of the violator will be decided by the court, at present he is brought to administrative responsibility.
