92-year-old Georgian broke a garden on Hollywood Boulevard

In Los Angeles, California, on Hollywood Boulevard 92-year-old Guryika (as the people of the Guria region in Western Georgia are called) Margarita Baramidze set up a vegetable garden and grows vegetables. Baramidze told about her activities in an interview Sputnik.

The woman is a member of the organization. Community garden and smashed his garden on a plot that a wealthy Spaniard left, specifying in his will that this place is meant only for people who love physical work and nature, and who need peace of mind. About 300 people are working in this area.

Before moving to America, Baramidze almost taught 50 for years in chemistry and biology at the Batumi secondary school, and after retiring she moved to her son-in-law in the village of Bokhvauri in the Ozurgeti district, where she was engaged in gardening.

The woman notes that in America, in contrast to Georgia, there is a very fast pace of life, that “not only our neighbors, sometimes we do not often see each other in our family”.

“In the building where we live, they mainly settled from different parts of the former Soviet Union. We all know each other and, we can say, are friends. But due to lack of time, we do not communicate as often as we would like, or as is customary here in Georgia, ”the woman said.

Baramidze likes life in America and the local way of life, as the rule of law operates, and everyone observes it.

“There are many programs for people with low incomes. In the US, great attention is paid to the elderly and children. There are also programs for immigrants who offer assistance, starting with language courses, ending with employment ... And human rights are protected by law, ”the Georgian woman shares her impressions.
