15 billion for Ukraine: emergency assistance from the US and the EU

International donors, including the European Union and the United States, plan to hold a conference in Kiev in April with the aim of collecting at least 15 billion dollars to prevent Ukraine’s bankruptcy and restore the country's economy. This was said on Monday by a high-ranking representative of the European Union.

The date of the conference and other details will be clarified after the Ukrainian government presents a detailed list of the investments it needs, said European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn, talking to reporters.

“We cannot wait until the conflict is resolved,” the EU representative emphasized, writes Voice of America.
