Ukraine will no longer have “specialists” and “candidates of science”

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has canceled the educational and qualification level of a specialist and a doctor of science.
Previously obtained specialist diploma is equivalent to the master's diploma.
From now on, there will be 5 educational and qualification levels in Ukraine: junior bachelor, bachelor, master, doctor of philosophy and doctor of science. Consequently, obtaining a bachelor's degree will already mean receiving a complete higher education. The concept of “PhD” is disappearing.
All those who defended a thesis, even in atomic energy, will become Ph.D. And the current candidates of science at their own request will be able to get a PhD diploma.
Experts convinced that the reform allows you to move away from the Soviet classification and move to European standards.
