In the US, talking about trump impeachment

Democratic Congressman from the state of Texas Al Green raised the issue of the impeachment of US President Donald Trump.

“I call for the impeachment of the President of the United States of America for obstruction of justice. I do this because in this country they believe that no one, including the President of the United States, is above the law. Our democracy is under threat. The president fired the head of the FBI not because he was investigating someone else, but because the president himself was being investigated. And after he was fired, he told us that he was considering an investigation at the time of his firing. We cannot leave this unchecked; the president is not above the law,” Greene said.

In addition, according to him, the president also threatened the head of the FBI in his tweet, in which he wrote that “James Comy had better hope that there are no records of their conversations before he begins to merge information into the press.”

Green added that discussing the issue of impeachment will show the real patriotism of members of Congress, stressing that, in his personal opinion, Trump should be declared impeachment.

He added that the impeachment of the president by the House of Representatives does not mean that Trump was found guilty. Further proceedings and the recognition of the guilt or innocence of the president is the responsibility of the Senate.

Green cited data that more than 40% of people support Trump's impeachment.
