A week of Russian and Eurasian opera will take place in New York
As part of the international art festival Eurasia Festival from 13 to 20 in January, the New York National Opera Center will host a week of Russian and Eurasian opera, consisting of three gala concerts, as well as intensive courses for young opera singers.
The festival will open with a large gala concert on January 13 at 19:30 in Marc A. Scorca Hall with the participation of stars of the world opera stage - bass Mikhail Svetlov and soprano Inna Dukach, who will perform accompanied by pianists Vera Danchenko-Stern and Aza Sydykov. Famous clarinetists Narek Harutyunyan and Vasko Dukowski will also perform at the concert; Opera masterpieces by great Russian composers - Borodin, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Vlasov - will be performed.
Also as part of the festival week, on January 18 and 20, there will be performances by young American opera singers - Clara Leal, Alvard Mailyan, Kalib Eick and Katie Norka. They will perform arias and romances by Russian and Eurasian composers - Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Khachaturian, Komitas, Moldobasanov and Begaliev.

This innovative educational and performing program of the festival gives young professional American singers a unique opportunity to explore the richest opera and song heritage of Russia and Eurasia.
In addition to the opera week, the Eurasia Festival will present to the New York public a series of educational and cultural events during the 2019 season, with the participation of masters of classical, jazz and folk music, which will also include open master classes and lectures.
Eurasia Festival is a project of the Kyrgyz American Foundation, whose goal is to preserve and promote the rich multicultural heritage of the Eurasian region in the United States, as well as to promote international understanding and goodwill through cultural exchange.
