California predicts record heat
Meteorologists predict that next week there will again be a record level of heat in the South-West of California - 49 degrees Celsius.
So, according to National Weather Service forecasts, the temperature on 1 will break the record set in 1886 in Los Angeles on Saturday, when Grover Cleveland was President of the United States, and will reach 36 degrees Celsius.
Residents of Arizona, southern Nevada and southern California are warned of emergencies that may arise from record heat. In Phoenix, on Friday the temperature was fixed at 37 degrees Celsius.
Weather representatives warn that high heat can harm the health of older people and babies. Also ask to be careful of those who work outdoors.
In the intermountain depression in the Mojave Desert region of Death Valley, southeast of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, the peak heat that will be recorded on Saturday - 56 degrees Celsius - will drop to 49 degrees on Sunday. In addition, due to high heat, low humidity and gusty dry winds, the risk of forest fires is high. According to weather service forecasts, the cool weather will arrive next Monday.
