Thousands rally resumed in Armenia
Several thousand participants of the rally in the capital of Armenia against the increase in electricity tariffs again moved to Marshal Baghramian Avenue. There is a presidential palace, parliament and other government agencies.
Last Friday, representatives of the “No robbery” civil movement began a three-day sit-in demonstration at Freedom Square, and on Monday evening went to the building of the Presidential Administration, but were stopped by police nearby, at the very beginning of Marshal Baghramian Avenue.
Police broke up the previous action protest in the early morning of June 23, using water cannons against the protesters. More than 200 people were detained, including journalists. According to the BBC correspondent, the police showed unreasonable cruelty.
A 24-hour protest against the increase in electricity prices is taking place in Yerevan on Freedom Square from June 19. At the same time, people are protesting in other cities of Armenia.
