US President Donald Trump officially recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel during the first week of December.

It is expected that the declaration of recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Trump, will make 6 in December, while he will most likely postpone the transfer of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Sources suggest that the president will once again postpone the implementation of the 1995 law on transferring the embassy to Jerusalem for six months, as his predecessors did, or suggest that the government develop a long-term plan for relocating the embassy.

Sources stressed that the final decision on when the official statement about Jerusalem will be made has not yet been made, but the US president has finally decided that Jerusalem will be recognized as the capital of Israel.

“The President has always said it’s a matter of when, not if.” He is still reviewing his options and we have nothing to announce,” a White House spokesman said.

According to sources, Trump can soften his statement for the Palestinian Authority, declaring only West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, because Palestinians make claims to the eastern part of the city.

In response to such assumptions, Nabil Abu Rdayna, a spokesman for the head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, said that Washington's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel would “destroy the peace process” and “destabilize the situation in the region.”

The Palestinian terrorist movement Hamas has threatened to resume the “Al-Quds intifada” (an armed uprising of Palestinian Arabs against Israeli rule in the West Bank and Gaza Strip) if the US administration officially recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the publication writes.NEWS".

The December 2 statement stressed that “the Trump administration’s official recognition that Jerusalem is the capital of the Jewish State would be considered a flagrant aggression and an unjust violation of international law.”

Hamas said that, from the point of view of international law, Jerusalem is occupied territory, and its official recognition would be "a cover for crimes committed by Jews in this city and a justification for the expulsion of Palestinians."

If the embassy move does take place, Hamas is calling on the Palestinians to resume the “Al-Quds intifada,” which translates to “Jerusalem intifada.” The Palestinian media call the intensification of terrorism in 2015 the Al-Quds Intifada. Over the past period, almost 50 people became victims.

The status of Jerusalem is one of the main obstacles to achieving peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

Arab countries and Western allies called on Trump not to transfer the US Embassy to Jerusalem, because, in their opinion, this will aggravate the conflict in the region.

Israelis consider Jerusalem their capital. Palestinians insist that the capital of the future Palestinian state should be located in the eastern part of Jerusalem. Washington favors talks between Palestinians and Israelis on the status of Jerusalem.

Israel declared Jerusalem its capital after the end of the War of Independence in 1949. In 1967 year after Six-Day war he seized East Jerusalem and united it with West, but the UN did not recognize this because of the claims of Palestine, so the city was divided into zones of influence and is considered an occupied territory, and all the diplomatic missions of countries that have relations with Israel are located in Tel Aviv. During the election campaign, Trump promised to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, however, taking the presidency, he constantly postponed this decision.
