The criminal 15 of May opened fire on a crowded basketball court in the Bronx.

The shots sounded around 19: 00, in Walton Park near Walton Avenue and 181 East Street. As a result of the shooting, 2 people were injured, writes CBS.

A video from surveillance cameras shows that one suspect approaches the site and makes several shots, after which he hides the gun in his backpack and runs away.

“At first there are three together, pum-pum-pum, then they stop, then two more sounds,” said Juan de la Cruz, who lives nearby.

A 16-year-old boy was wounded in the leg, and a 47-year-old man was shot in the forearm. They were both taken to hospital in stable condition.

“I saw the consequences, I saw people running and horror, I saw the expressions on the children’s faces. They were horrified, they shouldn’t live like this,” said community activist Darney Bourne.

"I think it's a real danger and I think the police should spend more time here," said area resident Braulio Basulto.

The site on which the shooting took place, opened last week after an update worth 1,4 million dollars. The playground is adjacent to the playground for small children.

On Thursday afternoon, the children there were playing basketball under the supervision of at least two New York police officers.

City Council member Fernando Cabrea said that after the incident at the site the police would be on duty.

However, the parents decided to take their children from school on Thursday, saying that they did not want to risk it.

According to police, the shooter was a black, skinny man who was last seen in a black sweatshirt with a hood, blue jeans, green-black-and-white sneakers and a dark book bag.

They are also looking for another suspect who, according to police, is Hispanic. He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, white jersey, blue jeans and black sneakers.

As for the motives, the police find out if the shooting could have been linked to the gang.
