Storm Florence carries heavy rains to New York
Forget about umbrellas - they won't help. As of Tuesday, you'll have to build at least an ark to stay dry during the rain that Storm Florence promises to bring to New York. According to forecasts, the residual effects of the natural disaster will hit the city and hit it with downpours. Up to 4 inches (10 centimeters) of rain is expected.
A weakened storm that was recently a 4 category hurricane will bring showers to the Big Apple during the day and evening, according to AccuWeather senior meteorologist Dave Dombeck, quoted as saying New York Post.
“Although it is much, much weaker than before, Florence is still a presence on the map,” Dombek noted. “There may be showers from time to time.”
Most areas of the city will receive about 1 or 2 inches (2,5-5 cm) of rain, with gusts reaching 35 mph (56 km/h). But depending on how quickly Florence passes over New York City, some isolated "corridors" could see 3 to 4 inches (7,5 to 10 cm) of rainfall, which could ultimately lead to flooding throughout the region.

It is expected that by the end of Tuesday and on Wednesday, the Florence storm will hit the Atlantic, where the elemental phenomenon should come to naught.
A few days ago we wrote that, according to forecasts of the National Center of Hurricanes, the trajectory of Florence's advancement across the US will be going through new york state. Experts promised the same 10 inches of rain, but reported that the threat of flooding in the state is small.
