According to forecasts National Hurricane Center, Florence's trajectory through the United States will pass through the state of New York.
After passing through North and South Carolina, the storm will turn to the north and pass through Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and other northeastern states, reaching Maine.
Florence will reach New York in the afternoon of September 18. By that time, the storm will weaken to a cyclone state, so the state is not threatened by destructive winds, but the region is waiting for rain.
The amount of rain in New York, according to Hurricane Center forecasts, can reach 4 inches (10 cm).
But they won't create flood threats in the state.
At the moment, Florence is on the coast of North and South Carolina and has a second power category.
