Popular flakes can be contaminated with salmonella
Kellogg has announced the recall of Kellogg Honey Smacks cereal packages weighing 15,3 and 23 ounces, as there is a risk of contamination with these salmonella products.
This is stated on the site Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The product to be recalled is sold throughout the United States. Packages are subject to recall. Honey smacks 15,3 oz weight with 3800039103 barcode and usage between 14 June 2018 of the year and 14 June 2019 of the year; as well as packaging Honey smacks 23 oz weight with 3800014810 bar code and the same usage period.
Kellogg asks people who have purchased a potentially dangerous product, not to consume it, but to return the company in order to receive a full refund.

Eating foods infected with salmonella can lead to serious illnesses, sometimes fatal. In young children, the elderly, or those with a weakened immune system, salmonellosis can occur with great complications.
People infected with salmonella may experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. The disease usually lasts from four to seven days, and most people recover without treatment. In some cases, Salmonella infection can lead to more severe forms of the disease.
