Oregon became the 19 state of the USA, which recognized the Holodomor in Ukraine as genocide
Oregon Governor Kate Brown signed a proclamation recognizing the Holodomor 1932-1933 as a genocide of the Ukrainian people.
This is stated in the message on the page of the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States on the social network Facebook.
Thus, Oregon became 19 a US state that recognized the Holodomor as a genocide of Ukrainians.
“Step by step, the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA and the Ukrainian community in America spread the truth about the Holodomor-Genocide of 1932-33 in Ukraine. We announce that Oregon has become the 19th state to recognize this tragedy as genocide and has joined in commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor and remembering its victims. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown's proclamation said, "The Holodomor was genocide committed by the Soviet regime under Stalin against the Ukrainian people," the embassy said in a Facebook post.
