Severe storms hit the south of the United States with tornadoes: 5 dead. VIDEO
The violent storms of 24 and 25 in April in Texas and Louisiana resulted in the death of at least five people and caused serious damage to both states.
The city of Ruston (Louisiana) suffered most of all, in which a strong tornado was recorded on Wednesday night. CNN.
According to city mayor Ronnie Walker, two people were killed in a tornado on the campus of the Louisiana Technical University in Raston. The identity of the victims at the moment are not known. Not a single college student was hurt, but the university is closed on Thursday, because electricity is turned off in the city, and piles of garbage are scattered on the streets.
“We have suffered significant damage. Many houses were damaged. The shopping center took a direct hit. This is really bad,” concluded Walker.

City authorities have created a shelter for residents in the primary school building. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards visited Ruston on April 25 to assess the damage.
City streets and courtyards were littered with tree branches and other debris.
Several alleged tornadoes were recorded on Wednesday and Thursday in Texas and Louisiana.

The National Weather Service is working to confirm the accuracy of reports on these weather phenomena. Weather forecasters have already confirmed that in the evening of April 24 in San Augustin, Texas, there really was a tornado.
Several buildings were damaged or destroyed in San Augustine, including a store, whose wall was destroyed by wind.
According to witnesses, a strong wind lifted garbage cans on the roads.

Several buildings in the Bryan area were badly damaged.
In the Erat district of Texas, three people died due to the harsh weather conditions on Wednesday, when the car they were in was blown into a pond by strong wind.
There was a family of four in the car. Maria Ramirez and her two children died - Ramirez was found dead inside the car, and the bodies of the children, ages 3 and 7, were found downstream. The children's father managed to escape by grabbing onto a tree.
More storms are expected in the southeastern US
Tornado and thunderstorm warnings are valid in parts of Louisiana and Mississippi on April 25.
In the afternoon storms are expected along the Gulf Coast.
An area with a population of about 6,5 million people are at risk of thunderstorms on Thursday. This area includes the following cities: New Orleans (Louisiana); Jackson (Mississippi); Mobil (Alabama); and Tallahassee (Florida).
