A man took hostages at Trader Joe's in Los Angeles: there are dead
In Los Angeles, police detained an 28-year-old man who took hostages in Trader Joe's supermarket, killing one of the women in the store, writes CNN.
The suspect, after an exchange of fire with the police, was wounded with his left hand and was detained.
On Twitter, the police reported that after the talks, which lasted about three hours, the man himself left the store, self-cuffing himself.
After the release of the hostages, six people between the ages of 12 and 81 were taken to the hospital. Their condition is assessed as stable, there is no threat to life.
The murdered woman was named Melida Corado, she was an employee of a supermarket and worked there for about five years.
Note that in the supermarket a man barricaded himself, trying to get away from the police chase. The car on which the criminal left the chase, crashed into a pole. A man jumped out of her and opened fire on police officers, and then disappeared into a supermarket. At that moment, the store was from 40 to 50 people he took hostage. Some people managed to escape, and some man released himself.
From the car in which the perpetrator was traveling, the doctors dragged and hospitalized an 20-year-old woman.
The police said that earlier in the south of the city the detainee had shot seven times at his grandmother, as well as at a young woman. Then he put the wounded woman in a Toyota Camry and tried to escape from the scene of the murder, but the police began to chase him. Grandma had a difficult operation, information about her condition has not yet been disclosed.
