Millionaire tried to blame 9-year-old daughter for the murder of his wife

The stockbroker, 45-year-old Rod Kovlin, who killed his ex-wife Shela Danishefsky in 2009, three years later tried to substitute his little daughter Anna, writes New York Post.

He faked his daughter’s false confession of the alleged accidental murder of his mother. To do this, he wrote an electronic note using the Apple device, which was then synchronized with Anna 25 June 2013's email account. This is stated in the court records.

“All these years I was incredibly afraid and felt guilty because of that night when my mother died,” wrote Kovlin, posing as Anna, who was then 12 years old. “I lied. She didn't just slip. That day we had a fight because of her date. I got angry, so pushed her. But I did not want to hurt her! I swear! But she fell, and I heard a terrible noise, the water began to blush. I tried to raise her head up, but she remained motionless, ”Kovlin wrote on behalf of his daughter.

During the trial, prosecutor Matthew Bogdanos said that Kovlin had prepared this note because he was in a panic, because the investigation into the murder of his wife had resumed. The note was addressed to Anna's lawyer.

The girl was just 9 years old when she found her mother lying face down in the bathroom on New Year's Eve. Her brother Miles was asleep at the time. The prosecution claims that Kovlin broke his wife's neck, and then set up allegedly drowning in the bathroom so that the children could find the mother's corpse.

Danishefski and her husband lived in separate apartments, but on the same floor of a luxury home in the Upper West Side (Manhattan, New York) and were in a state of divorce. The day before the murder, the woman made an appointment with her lawyer to exclude Kovlin from her will.

But only in 2015, he was charged with murder. Shortly after the death of his wife, Kovlin's parents got custody of his children, which deprived him of 5’s million-dollar inheritance control.

Prosecutors during the investigation claimed that Kovlin then came up with a plan on how to kill his parents. He wanted to ask his daughter to give them tea with rat poison, but later he refused the idea. There was also a version that he allegedly coached Anna to press the rape charges against her grandfather. Kovlin even gave her clear instructions on how to lose her virginity with a cucumber, but she did not agree. Prosecutors said that Kovlin led a depraved life, was obsessed with women, drugs and tried to eliminate anyone who interfered with this, including his wife and parents.

In turn, lawyer Kovlin called the charges against his client absurd and absurd.
