How will Los Angeles for the Olympics 2028

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decided that the 2028 Olympic Games of the year will be held in Los Angeles. The City of Angels has previously hosted the summer Olympics in 1932 and 1984.

Los Angeles officials plan to create an economically viable model of the Games, which in the future could be an example for other cities and countries, writes Share America.

As stated by Jean Sykes, executive director of the Los Angeles Organizing Committee THE 2028, this sporting event is too expensive for host cities and causes too much stress and difficulty to manage.

Sykes and his team decided to build sports facilities around the infrastructure of the city, not forcing him to adapt to the event. The organizers will not build new buildings with the expectation of the Games. Instead, LA 2028 will use existing facilities and repurpose buildings left over from the previous Olympiad. The organizers will pay more attention to expanding the public transport system.

“Los Angeles has a great opportunity to rethink the organization of games in terms of the future,” says Bill Hanwei, executive director AECOM, a design company with experience serving several Olympic Games, which will take part in the organization of the Olympics-2028. He also noted that LA 2028 is even exploring the possibility of exchanging temporary constructions with Paris, where the 2024 Games of the year will be held.
