Clint Eastwood informally supported Trump

American actor and director Clint Eastwood said that, choosing between US presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, he favors the Republican nominee.

He spoke about his political views in an interview Esquire.

“It’s a difficult choice, isn’t it? I'm probably for Trump. You know, Clinton announced that she would continue to follow Obama's course. There was too much nonsense on both sides. She did a lot of things as a politician,” Eastwood said.

According to the actor, Americans are impressed by the billionaire’s frankness, because “in their hearts everyone is already tired of political correctness.”

“I think he was able to find something important, because everyone is tired of political correctness, of this kissing. We now generally live in the era of a generation that kisses the asses of everyone around us, a generation of pussies. People are constantly accused of racism or some other nonsense. When I was growing up, these things weren’t called racism,” the actor said.

At the same time, he added that he did not always agree with the opinion of the billionaire, although he understood where he came from such thoughts.

“Trump just says what he thinks. Sometimes these are not very good things. I can understand what he means, although I don’t always agree with him,” Eastwood explained.

He noted that some of the billionaire’s statements are indeed racist, but, according to the actor, everyone attaches too great importance to this.

“Everyone starts: “Oh, this is racism,” and let’s make mountains out of molehills. Relax, damn it,” said the actor.

However, answering the question whether his statements can be considered official support for Trump, Eastwood replied that he did not intend to agitate for anyone.
