Because of fires in California, poisonous smog hangs over San Francisco. A PHOTO
Yesterday, Californian authorities ordered an evacuation northwest of Sacramento: forest fires destroyed at least 34 square miles (88 square kilometers) of dry plants and threatened two dozen installations. A plume of smoke has spread over 75 miles (120 kilometers) towards San Francisco.
About a forest fire in the area between Sacramento and Lake Berriesa became known around two in the morning local time on Saturday, writes USA Today. Local residents who witnessed the fires say they have never seen such flames at such close range and it “looks like something out of a movie.”
Witnesses of natural disasters actively publish in social networks photos and videos of the orange sky above burning forests.

The sky turned a shade of yellow ocher, mingling with the seasonal mist and forming a poisonous smog over the city. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported a deterioration in air quality in the Bay Area on Saturday, causing the city’s Department of Emergency Situations to issue a smoke warning.
On Monday, the air was mostly back to normal, although the EPA's forecast said conditions could deteriorate again to "moderately poor," meaning hypersensitive people with respiratory problems should minimize exposure to outside air.
According to the National Meteorological Service, the smoke from a fire in Yolo County contributed to the deterioration of air quality in the districts of Napa, Sonoma, San Mateo and San Francisco.
At the moment, no human casualties or injuries are reported. It is also not known how many people were evacuated. 110 fire engines, 29 teams, 12 helicopters and 18 bulldozers are involved in fire suppression.
Due to the hot and windy weather, in conditions of low humidity and gusty winds, any sliver, dry tree or shrub can erupt like a match. The weather contributes to the rapid spread of fire, so in extreme hours an extreme situation can be created. State authorities continue to evacuate.
