Immigration detained a child immediately after surgery
Immigration agents detained a 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy who illegally resides in the country.
The girl was detained right after the surgery in a Texas hospital, as reported Associated Press.
Federal immigration officers intercepted the child right in the ambulance, which was in a hurry to deliver the patient for an emergency gall bladder operation.
Rosa-Maria Hernandez came to the United States from Mexico illegally when she was 3 of the month. Immigration officers stopped a car at a checkpoint. They allowed the ambulance to go to the hospital and followed the car.
After the girl was discharged, border patrol agents took her into custody, not allowing her cousin (US citizen) to return the child to her parents, who also illegally stay in the country.
A young Mexican citizen was taken to a shelter for minors in San Antonia, and she is being prepared for deportation. According to the agents, they ensured that the girl was taken to hospital and received proper medical care, and only then began to work in accordance with US immigration laws.
The girl now has two options: voluntarily leave the country or spend 3 weeks in prison. The family has no right to interfere in its decision.
