Jewish scholar denied Eve's descent from Adam’s rib
God created Eve not from a rib, but from a completely different bone, which has since passed away from the descendants of Adam.
This is the so-called priap bone, which is present in the genitals of many mammals, including apes, but not humans. This hypothesis was put forward in the USA by a specialist in the analysis of biblical texts, a professor at the American Jewish University in Bel-Er (California) Zayoni Zevit. Today, he and his colleagues, including the founder of the Biblical Archeological Society in the United States, Herschel Shanks, intend to substantiate it at a press conference at the National Press Club of the United States.
Zevit, an expert on ancient Semitic languages, believes that the word "rib" in the canonical translations of the Book of Genesis does not accurately reflect the Hebrew source. It is more correct, in his opinion, to refer the word contained there to the bone, which in modern science is known as the baculum, also known as the priapous or groove bone.
A report on Zevit's research is published in the next issue of the Biblical Archaeological Review, published by the same society.
