George Clooney announced the completion of a career in film

Winner of two Oscars and four Golden Globes, actor George Clooney said he intends to complete an acting career. He said this in an interview The Sunday Times.

“I played leading roles in films for quite a long time. But I’m already 56 years old, and I no longer have the need to act in order to meet girls! And I shouldn’t do this anymore!” the actor noted.

Clooney also said that he currently does not need money, and, accordingly, can safely retire.

It is reported that George Clooney, along with his business partners - Cindy Crawford's husband Rand Gerber and real estate magnate Mike Meldman - sold the tequila company for a billion dollars.

“I was an actor to make a living to pay bills and stuff like that. But since my friend and I sold the tequila company for a damn billion dollars, I don’t need the money anymore,” he said.

Clooney wants to spend more time with her family - with his wife Amal and two twins, Ella and Alexander.

In an interview, the journalist noted that before the birth of his twins, Clooney rarely came into contact with the children's theme in the cinema, which cannot be said about his new film “Suburbicon”.

“Oh, that's funny. I started production on the film before Amal and I thought about having children,” Clooney says.

He noted that the current children are different, and they, for example, are not close to the topic of racism. The actor noted that in the film he has a scene where children with different skin colors play baseball next to the fence that they built to share their families.

“While we are moving backwards, the new generation is moving slowly but in the right direction,” Clooney said.

The interview also touched on the topic of political views. Clooney did not like to speak out about politics before. In an interview, he admitted that he supports the Democrats and believes that now the party does not have charismatic leaders.

“I have always been involved in politics in one way or another. My father ran for Congress. What I do know is how to communicate with voters... I was once on a Democratic committee and I told them that you come to us for money, but you don't ask us about things that we really know about. We can give advice on how to spark people’s interest,” says Clooney.

He believes that Donald Trump is a very charismatic leader, and people voted not because of his actions, but because of the way he behaved. “They knew him. They were like him, even though he says strange things,” Clooney said.

Note that Clooney does not intend to completely throw a movie. He likes the process of producing films. The film “Operation Argo,” where Clooney acted as a producer, won an Oscar for Best Film, Golden Globe and a BAFTA statuette.
