Chernobyl-360: Kickstarter collects money for a film about the exclusion zone
Ukrainians launched a campaign in support of the Chernobyl VR film (360 degrees) on Kickstarter, пишет Internet portal AIN.
Chornobyl360 is a Ukrainian interactive documentary-anthology about the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the exclusion zone adjacent to it, shot on a spherical camera with an overview of 360 degrees. Task campaign - collect the $ 30 000 needed to complete the picture. At the exit, viewers will have the opportunity to explore the history of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, feeling themselves at the crash site.
The film is shot with the help of drones and will be available for Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard, etc. The author of the project was Cyril Pokutny, who is connected with Chernobyl by the story of his father, who worked 15 for years at a power station.
The film itself will be similar to an interactive game, during which the viewer will be able to choose options for the development of storylines, through which he will explore the Chernobyl NPP. “But, in order to see the culmination and get inside unique objects of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which in real life are accessible only to employees of the zone, the viewer needs to complete all levels,” say the creators of the project.
The documentary uses 360-degree video from drones, CGI-graphics and 3D-sound. The team is also working on photogrammetry of 3D scenes, one of which recreated the reactor control room. The goal of the project is to draw attention to the catastrophe and show the past and future of the Zone with the help of virtual reality technology.
