American tourists miraculously survived in Hebron
Five ultra-Orthodox Jewish tourists from the United States found themselves in the middle of hostile Arab territory in Hebron on September 3 and were nearly subjected to a “lynching.” The tourists were heading to the Cave of the Forefathers, but lost their way and ended up in the nearby Arab region of Jabal Johar.
Jews in American tourists were easily recognized, and, after a short time, a crowd of local youth surrounded their car, flooding stones and incendiary bottles. The car of tourists, as a result, burned down almost to the ground.
Tourists also owe their lives to a local resident who managed to hide them in his house before the arrival of large forces of the Israeli army. The military dispersed the crowd gathered around the house and evacuated the lost tourists from the city.
Two tourists were injured during the incident, they needed medical assistance. Their condition was assessed as mild to moderate in severity.
