Protests in Russia: almost 300 people are arrested. A PHOTO

In 26, Russian cities detained 271 a participant in rallies in support of an opposition politician, founder of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, Alexei Navalny.

According to the OVD Info publication, 62 people were detained in St. Petersburg, 57 in Yaroslavl, 21 in Krasnodar, 20 in Lipetsk. There are also detainees in Kaliningrad, Moscow, Perm, Pskov, Saransk, Selyatin, Sochi, Stavropol, Tver, Tyumen, Yakutsk.

There were detentions in Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Nizhny Tagil, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Saratov, Tula, Tyumen and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. But there all the detainees have already been released.

In Krasnodar, one of the detainees was arrested for three days.

Earlier it was reported that Navalny, who is going to run for the presidency of Russia, announced the All-Russian protest rally on the birthday of Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 7.
