In Tel Aviv, to reduce noise, reduce the number of night landings of aircraft

The Civil Aviation Authority plans to reduce the number of night landings in the sky over Tel Aviv, in order to reduce aviation noise. According to the Director of the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority, Yoel Feldsho, night landings cannot be canceled completely due to the negative consequences for the Israeli economy. However, landing on runway No.12 at night will be reduced to 37-38, from the current 50 landing per night.

It is also planned to expand the time window when night flights will be allowed to land on runway No. 21 - until 23:00, instead of the previous 22:00.

At the same time, the average number of landings during this period will not be increased, but the ban on the use of the strip No. XXUMX on weekends and on holidays will be maintained.

When landing on runway 12, planes pass over Tel Aviv at an altitude of 1400 to 2200 feet (426 to 670 meters). And when landing on runway No. 21, planes pass through the villages of Mazor - at an altitude of 700 feet (213 meters) and Be'erot Yitzhak - at an altitude of 400-500 feet (122-152 meters).

According to the plans of the Civil Aviation Authority, flights arriving in Israel between 23: 00 and 01: 00 will be sent to lane 30.

In addition, on the lane No. 30 a course-glide system is installed, allowing aircraft to land at the instrument. However, to land on this lane in the instrumental approach mode, aircraft now need to fly at low altitude over the densely populated area of ​​Modiin-Macabim-Reut.

According to the plans, starting from the summer of 2016, calling on the No. 30 strip on CGS will be prohibited between 23: 00 and 01: 00, except for situations when aviation security requires.
