In Russia, they want to impose sanctions against Hillary Clinton

Deputies of the State Duma of Russia proposed to impose sanctions against US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and other individuals allegedly involved in the violation of the rights of Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, who was arrested in the States for drug smuggling.

It is reported that in 2010, the pilot was “illegally kidnapped from Liberia by US intelligence agencies.” US authorities later sentenced him to 20 years in prison on charges of conspiracy to smuggle drugs.

In a parliamentary request to the President of Russia, as well as to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, several dozen representatives of the Communist Party of Russia called for drawing up a “Yaroshenko list” and working out tough measures of diplomatic, economic and other influence on those on the list.

“The Americans love to make a fuss about the violation of human rights around the world, while they themselves spit on these rights from a high bell tower: they kidnap, torture and deprive of freedom whoever they want and wherever they want. It is clear that weak countries will remain silent in response to the lawless persecution of their citizens by the United States. But Russia is a strong country,” Sergei Obukhov, secretary of the Communist Party of Russia, told Izvestia.

According to State Duma deputy from United Russia Ilya Kostunov, if the Communist Party of Russia has materials proving the guilt of specific people in the abductions of Russian citizens, then it would be more correct to seek the initiation of criminal cases.

In addition to Hillary Clinton, Russian politicians are also demanding sanctions against the federal prosecutor of the New York Southern District Prit Bharara, Jed Rakoff, judge of the New York State District Court, and the head of the DEA African Department of the United States Federal Agency for the Fight against Drug Trafficking Sam Geye.

Also included in the “Yaroshenko list” are judges of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York, Rina Raggi, Chester Strobe and Christopher Druni, who refused to consider Yaroshenko’s appeal.

Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013 for a year and is now fighting for the right to run for the US Democratic Party. She leads the race, ahead of her rival - Vermont senator Bernie Sanders.

Earlier, members of the European Parliament called upon EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federico Mogherini to initiate the “Savchenko list”, which, modeled on the “Magnitsky list”, will impose sanctions on Russian officials. It was proposed to impose sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin and 28 other Russian officials for “illegal treatment of Ukrainian citizen Nadezhda Savchenko.”
